Thome ROHQ and TSM Group join hand-in-hand in spearheading a project called “A Call for Donation.” This aims to help the victims of the Southwest Monsoon (Hanging Habagat), made worst by a tropical storm in Metro Manila and nearby provinces, which triggered flash floods and prompted the evacuation of thousands of families.
Thome employees in Manila and Singapore donated, in kind and in cash, a large sum of money and a total of 600 relief packs. The relief packs contain a mat, a towel, ready snacks and water to help augment the needs of the typhoon victims whose houses remain submerged in knee to waist-deep flooding.
Thome ROHQ then distributed the relief packs in two separate trips. The residents of Brgy. Damapalit, Malabon City in the Philippines were the first to receive the relief packs on 24th August 2018 and a total of 200 families benefited from this project. The second distribution happened 31st August 2018 where 400 relief packs were distributed to flood-stricken families in Brgy. Malanday, Marikina City, Philippines.
The cash donations were given to ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya – Operation Sagip. ABS-CBN is a private institution and their project aims to help families displaced by the recent flooding.
Tragedies like this always tend to bring out the best in us – helping and supporting each other in any way we can, sending messages of sympathy and comfort and sharing inspiring stories of victims caring for each other despite of their own misfortunes.
