Christmas Message from our Group CEO and CCO

By Olav Nortun, Chief Executive Officer,  and Claes Eek Thorstensen, President & Chief Commercial Officer, Thome Group

Christmas

Dear Colleagues,

As we approach this very important time of year, may I first of all, wish all of our employees, both at sea and ashore, as well as our highly valued business partners and clients a very Merry Christmas and a happy holiday period.

This is a special time of year when we spend valuable time with our friends and family and our hearts and thoughts always go out to our hard-working seafarers who may find themselves far away from their loved ones at this time.

Thome prides itself on the strength, dedication and professionalism of its sea-going and shore-based staff and I wanted to extend my own hand of appreciation and sincere thanks to you all for making 2019 a good year.
At Thome, we have always recognised the importance of ‘the human element’ and over the years we have continuously innovated and improved our services by embracing modern technologies, launching relevant training programs, updating our internal processes to provide the best possible facilities for seafarers.

By consistently innovating, we have not only ensured that we met and exceeded the demands of the ever-changing maritime industry but also provided the necessary support and services required by our shareholders, employees, and their families.

Embracing new technology has been an integral part of our development as a company and this year saw us update our website and launch two microsites which contain detailed information about our ship agency and marine consultancy services. Digitalisation is playing an increasingly important part in the way we do business with our suppliers and clients and Thome ensures it is ahead of the curve with these developments to stay one step ahead of its competitors.

Next year will also be very busy and challenging as the industry faces new regulations particularly the 2020 Sulphur Cap which comes into force on 1st January 2020.
We are confident that with your continued support and dedication, the Thome Group will be able to manage these changes with minimal disruption to our partners, stakeholders and principals.

In the meantime, we hope that you will find the time to be with family and friends over this festive period and we would like to extend to you and your families a very peaceful Christmas and Happy New Year!
